Mr. Moreno is a Director of Post Oak Energy Capital. He leads the technical team in all reservoir and financial engineering aspects.
Prior to joining Post Oak, Mr. Moreno was Managing Director, Head of A&D and Technical of the Americas, at Bank of America Securities (“BofA”), energy investment banking. At BofA, Mr. Moreno advised public and private exploration and production (“E&P”) companies, private equity investment firms and large family offices. Mr. Moreno led the technical team in deal origination, valuation and the execution of buyside and sellside mandates of upstream and midstream acquisitions and divestitures. Previously, Mr. Moreno worked as Vice President, Acquisitions & Divestitures, Global Natural Resources at Goldman Sachs (“GS”), energy investment banking. At GS, Mr. Moreno focused on public and private company technical screenings to identify merger-of-equals, spin-merge and acquisition targets on behalf of the firm’s upstream and midstream clients. Mr. Moreno’s combined energy investment banking advisory experience exceeds $45bn across the lower 48, offshore Gulf of Mexico and international.
Prior to Mr. Moreno’s career as an energy investment banker, he worked more than 17 years as a Petroleum Engineer on the E&P side of the business. Mr. Moreno was Business Development Manager and Technical Advisor at Quantum Resources Management where he was responsible for the technical valuations of all property acquisitions for QR Energy (MLP) and QRF (private-equity fund). Prior to Quantum Resources Management, Mr. Moreno worked as a Reserves Engineer at H.J. Gruy and Associates, Inc. generating reserve reports conforming to the guidelines established by the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Petroleum Resources Management System for public and private clients. Mr. Moreno also worked for Torch Energy Advisors, Inc. in various property acquisitions and divestitures on behalf of Torch Energy Advisors, Torch Energy Royalty Trust, Bellwether Exploration and Nuevo Energy.
Mr. Moreno received a Bachelor of Science degree in Petroleum Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin
